Missing you and hating me!!

Hey girl, I don't know if you check this much anymore, but I was just updating my own blog and decided to blurb on yours. Don't get the title wrong, I am only hating me because it's been way too long since I've written. I'll be rectifying that in the upcoming days but figured since I was so close through this vehicle of communication, I'd say a quick hello!! Hope all is well across the globe. You're in my thoughts as always.

It's a girl.

I'm going to be an aunt and I'm going to have a niece!!!!!!!

I'm also so glad to hear you are doing well, Mani and I cannot wiat to hear your stories. My life has been boring except for the canyon, which was amazing and which you have to raft down with me at some point.

Gone Away

I miss my Manika. Well I suppose she is really Vijay's Manika or she will be soon, but I am not sure how to get in touch with her and I just wanted her to know that I miss her like crazy. I hope your journey was safe and you are home now.

Mic Check

Ok, before I go for real, this is a shameless plug for my music blog. If anyone is interested in conveying their thoughts about music (past, present, and future), regarding artists, musicians, the extremely talented, the barely talented, instruments, music news, underground talent, ANYTHING...please hit up my blog. Would love to hear what you have to say.

Asleep...

Hey guys, what's shakin? No one's been talking on this lately. Am I the only lowlife with nothing else to do? :) I guess so. Well...I guess I will keep this going until some others have something to say. Um, the only real news is that Mani's officially on her way back to see you all. While you are probably very excited, we all here are very sad. But alas we can't have our cake and eat it too...plus, you guys have missed out on your girl long enough. Have fun celebrating her return home. Hope to meet you guys on your terf later this year. In the words of Mani, (plonk...alas...indeed)!!

Hot, hot, hot!!

Hey peeps...I am extremely bored.....at 12:06 midnight....on a Friday...at home. So since I don't have any extravagant news or reflections, the thing that comes to mind right now are some of the attractive guys on TV/movies right now. For instance, Evan on TLC's "While you were out", Ty on TLC's trading spaces (can you tell what I've been watching?), Antonio Banderas (Puss in Boots in Shrek 2 among other things), and David Ratcliffe as Harry Potter (damn, only 14). Those are the first that come to mind at the moment. Ladies of the Sunbeam Blog...please feel free to help me finish this.

Sex, Sex, Sex

Sounds like the childless couple needs a lesson or two from the sexpert herself on Oxygen. I saw this woman on Late Night with Carson Daly and boy is she knowledgeable. What's her name again Mani? Sue something....check her out guys!!

reminder(s): think harder

1) devika, it seems like the terrible pictures themselves actually help to justify the war. As vile as they may be, the important thing is that you are seeing them. Which, I think, represents a significant positive change over the previous regime. But don't take my word for it. This Iraqi says it better. Look under the "About Abu Gharib" post.
The thing about an open society is that the pictures that come from it are not always easy to look at, but the outrage engendered by these photographs provides an opportunity for change that the cynical optimism of repression never could.

2) You can make any word a link simply by highlighting it, and clicking on the link icon (looks like a teensy Earth w/ a link of chain just below it) just above the text entry box. This will spawn a window that asks you to enter the url of the link.

Big FOOT

LOL...for some reason, I knew a big foot was going to come out of that "Bugging you" ensemble!! Poor little insect, and it was even on key. Mani, you should make a link of the dancing grandma with the big boobs. Hilarious!!!

One for the students

Check this out everybody (but especially those of you are in the process of writing theses). Amazon has created a search engine called A9 that, in addition to searching the web, searches inside their (ever expanding) library of digital books. It also seems to provide lots of other cool functionality to aid researchers. Enjoy.

the wave of the future

Wow midnightsky! Jesus died today, at Books-A-Million no less! I always found that particular retail outlet to be especially soul crushing, but I never thought it capable of hosting deicide. I must admit that I find the Anderson Books-A-Million setting to be a bit more tawdry than Jerusalem, but I guess you get religious experience where you find it. My old roommate Shane used to have a mole that looked suspiciously like Ganesha (in profile) and there have been at least two garages here in Jersey upon which the Virgin Mary was said to appear.

As for enlightening Hindus, well, I'm not sure that’s my job exactly, but it does seem like that monotheism thing may be going somewhere.

oops

your advanced ways confuse me (all hail king Lud). I'll figure this out yet.

hey bloggers

this is bri4n. A former Clemson kiddy myself (go tigers), I'm from New Jersey (USA!!) and currently living and working (writing code) in Pennsylvania. I have only met Ms. Sky on a few occasions, but I am dating Rachel who knows her rather better. Anyways, looks like she wrangled this old cowpoke a chance to snooze on the UV with y'all. Try not to take me too seriously. I'll post more l8r.

By George, I've got it!!

Hey ladies and gents!! I finally thought of a name for my music blog and no Vijay...not iPerform or iSing, although very practical for my engineering mind. It's actually a little jazzier, though unoriginal...."Mic Check" and if you want to be invited onto it let me know. Would love to hear your opinions on music's best and worst!!

On another note, it appears the tables will turn if me and Rachel come to India. I'll be the first to admit we both have mutilated accents when it comes to predominant Indian word usage and....alas, it will be interesting to switch places with Mani as the source of entertainment, although that seems REALLY, REALLY hard to do despite disposition ;) Anyway, look out everyone, your eleventh hour friend is on her way back home to rock your worlds once again!!

Oh by the way...

I get the credit for introducing Manika to Belle and Sebastian. I got front row at their last concert here.

And she is a certified genius...they told her that she answered questions in the way they (her professors with PhD's) would have.

Hello, hello

I'm Rachel, the fruitcake that likes to annoy Manika by calling her early in the morning in the states. But I'm working on her. Today she actually started talking about how getting up in the morning did make the day seem much less rushed.

Anyway, I am going to go back to printing out my student's papers and pretending to read Rushdie. I will blog later.

Other Side of the Game

Hello Mani's friends from India. I'm Robyn, her roommate in the US. I have heard all about you and you all seem quite the fun group. I hope to make Mani's wedding in October and looking forward to meeting you all then if so. Your friend is quite the fun celebrator. I'll let her fill you in, but we had a blast on Monday to say the very least. But then when don't we? She's freakin' awesome!! Later dudes.
